It’s Okay To Not Be Okay

It’s okay to not be okay    虽然是精神病但没关系

It’s a South Korean romantic series, also translated as “Psycho But It’s Okay.” Like what you see from the title, it’s a romance between some psychologically and emotionally wounded people.

Ko Moon-young, a popular fairy tale writer, is the so-called “psycho” in this drama in large part due to her unusual, dark past. Her fairy tales are constantly best sellers but often criticized for having too cruel content for kids. However, the messages from these fairy tales play an important role in the series because they uncover and help cure the psychological wounds of the main characters as the series progresses.

Moon Gang-tae is an orphaned caregiver working at OK Psychiatric Hospital. His older brother witnessed their mother’s murder and remembered a detail about the murderer regarding butterflies, which resulted in his irrational fear of butterflies. And because of Moon Gang-tae’s older brother’s trauma, they have to move from town to town every spring in order to “run away from the butterflies”.

The below is one of the fairy tales that was written by Ko Moon-young in the series.
